Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development of Islamic economic thought and civilization from a historical perspective, focusing on the contributions of major thinkers and their impact on contemporary economic practice. The research method used is qualitative analysis with a historical approach, which involves a literature review from primary and secondary sources, as well as case studies on the implementation of sharia economics in various countries. The results show that Islamic economic thought has undergone a significant evolution, from the time of the Prophet Muhammad to the modern era, with figures such as Ibn Khaldun and Umer Chapra playing an important role in formulating relevant theories. The study also found that the application of sharia principles in the contemporary economy can provide solutions to current social and economic challenges, as well as promote sustainable and inclusive growth.
