Abstract

This article explores the concept of tadabbur semesta (contemplation of the universe) as a scientific foundation from an Islamic perspective, emphasizing the integration of revelation and reason as the basis for developing holistic knowledge. Tadabbur is understood not only as a spiritual activity but also as a scientific process that encourages humans to deeply reflect on both kauniyah (natural phenomena) and qauliyah (scriptural) verses. Referring to Qur'anic verses such as Surah Ali Imran (3:190–191) and interpretations by scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Maraghi, the article highlights the importance of the ulul albab character those who combine spiritual awareness (dhikr) and rational thinking (fikr) in shaping ethical and beneficial science. Through a library research approach, the article outlines how tadabbur can serve as a scientific methodology encompassing observation, analysis, correlation, and synthesis of natural phenomena. The findings indicate that the integration of science and religion leads to a deeper, spiritual, and applicable understanding of reality in addressing contemporary challenges. The article recommends applying the tadabbur concept in education, research, and social life to cultivate scientists who are critical, ethical, and socially responsible..
