Abstract

The book Al-Amtsilah at-Tashrifiyyah by Sheikh Muhammad Ma’shum Ali Seblak is one of the main references in teaching the science of tashrif, especially in explaining the transformation of the form of fi’il and ism in Arabic. This book has been used as an official reference in non-formal religious educational institutions as emphasized in Government Regulation Number 55 of 2007 concerning Religious Education. Mastery of the science of tashrif is considered an important foundation in understanding classical Arabic texts. However, the commonly used learning methods, namely the lecture method or one-way oral explanation, often cause difficulties for students in understanding and applying tashrif concepts optimally. This encourages the urgency to study alternative pedagogical approaches that are more applicable and directly sourced from the structure of the book.

            This study focuses on the implementation of the al-mutabaqah method (matching forms) in learning tashrif science using the book Al-Amtsilah at-Tashrifiyyah in a madrasah diniyah affiliated with Ma’had Raudhatul Qur’an. The main objective of this study is to strengthen students understanding of wazan tashrifiyyah patterns, which have been difficult to master due to the limitations of traditional methods such as monotonous lectures and short teaching times. The main problems analyzed in this study include: (1) How the application of the al-mutabaqah method in learning tashrif lughawi can be carried out effectively, (2) What are the factors that determine the success of the method in a traditional educational environment (3) What are the obstacles that arise in the process of its implementation. This study also aims to compile pedagogical solutions to overcome these obstacles, so that this method can truly contribute to improving students tashrif skills as a whole.

            This study uses a qualitative approach by utilizing observation, interview and documentation techniques as data collection tools. Data analysis is carried out through the process of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the al-mutabaqah method has proven effective in helping students understand tashrifiyyah patterns, even within the limited study time of only 75 minutes per week. This approach also plays a role in increasing the accuracy of memorization and application of wazan, both those explicitly stated in the book and those not directly stated.
