Abstract

The level of student understanding in learning is strongly influenced by internal factors and the teaching approach used by the teacher, as the main indicator of the success of the teaching and learning process. One of the effective models to foster cooperation and improve understanding is the Circuit Learning model. This study aims to describe the steps, advantages, and disadvantages of applying the model in PAI learning at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Klaten and Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Kebumen using a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of PAI teachers as informants. The results showed that the application of this model involved question and answer activities, making and explaining concept maps, group work, presentation of results, and giving praise or prizes to motivate students. This model has advantages in facilitating understanding and memory, maximizing learning moments, and helping with exam preparation, although it has shortcomings in delivering objectives and team coordination. Overall, the Circuit Learning model proved to be effective in improving comprehension and skills in Islamic Education at the madrasah level.
