Fine motor development and self-confidence are important aspects in early childhood development, especially at the age of 5–6 years. One activity that can stimulate both aspects is tracing leaves using crayons. This study aims to describe the fine motor skills and self-confidence levels of 5–6-year-old children through leaf tracing activities at Baiturrahman Kindergarten. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with an observation method. The research subjects consisted of 10 children who were directly involved in the learning activities. Data collection techniques were carried out through direct observation using observation sheets and field notes. The results showed that some children were able to trace leaves with confidence, focus, and care, while others were still hesitant, afraid of making mistakes, and needed guidance from the teacher. In conclusion, leaf tracing activities with crayons are effective in stimulating children's fine motor skills and self-confidence, but require support, positive reinforcement, and appropriate learning strategies so that children's development can proceed optimally.
