Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of teachers in improving students' critical thinking skills in schools. Critical thinking skills are very important skills in academic development and daily life, so it is the responsibility of educators to develop these skills in students. This study uses a qualitative approach with literature study and observation methods to explore various strategies that can be applied by teachers in facilitating the improvement of critical thinking skills. The results of the study indicate that the role of teachers is very strategic in creating a supportive environment, using interactive teaching methods, and providing challenges that stimulate students' analytical and evaluation skills. In addition, effective communication between teachers and students also plays an important role in encouraging students to think more critically. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers continue to innovate in their learning approaches and improve their skills in guiding students to develop critical thinking skills optimally
