Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of social media on the changing patterns of students, both within and outside the school environment. The findings indicate students’ social interactions from the perspective of educational sociology. Social media has become an inseparable part of teenagers' lives, including in educational contexts. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research analyzes how the use of social media influences the form, intensity, and quality of social relationships. It finds that social media creates new spaces for student interaction but also presents challenges such as reduced face-to-face communication, increased individualism, and the risk of digital addiction. From the viewpoint of educational sociology, these changes reflect a shift in the role of educational institutions in shaping students' character and social values. Therefore, active involvement of educators and parents is needed to guide students in using social media wisely as a tool for strengthening positive social interaction
