PENGARUH INTENSITAS PENGGUNAAN SMARTPHONE UNTUK HIBURAN TERHADAP MANAJEMEN WAKTU BELAJAR MAHASISWA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh intensitas penggunaan smartphone untuk hiburan terhadap manajemen waktu belajar mahasiswa. Hiburan digital seperti media sosial, video streaming, permainan daring, dan konten video pendek semakin mendominasi aktivitas mahasiswa. Kondisi ini menimbulkan kekhawatiran terkait kemampuan mahasiswa dalam merencanakan, mengatur, dan memanfaatkan waktu belajar secara efektif.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Responden penelitian adalah mahasiswa aktif yang menggunakan smartphone untuk tujuan hiburan dan memenuhi kriteria penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner, sedangkan analisis data meliputi uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, analisis deskriptif, serta analisis regresi linier sederhana dengan bantuan software statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas penggunaan smartphone untuk hiburan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap manajemen waktu belajar mahasiswa. Semakin tinggi intensitas penggunaan smartphone untuk hiburan, semakin rendah kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengelola waktu belajar.
Temuan penelitian ini sejalan dengan hasil penelitian sebelumnya yang menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan smartphone secara berlebihan dapat memicu prokrastinasi, menurunkan konsentrasi belajar, dan mengurangi efektivitas akademik. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan literasi digital, peningkatan kontrol diri, serta penerapan program manajemen waktu di lingkungan perguruan tinggi.
