SMART LOCK DOOR MENGGUNAKAN FACE RECOGNITION DENGAN METODE VIOLA-JONES BERBASIS INTERNET of THINGS (IoT)

Technological advances in the modern era encourage the implementation of digital-based security systems, one of which is a smart door lock system. This study develops a smart lock door system using facial recognition technology with the Viola-Jones method integrated with the Internet of Things (IoT). This system is designed to provide a higher level of security while increasing user convenience in managing door access. The Viola-Jones method was chosen as the main algorithm for detecting faces because of its advantages in speed and detection accuracy. This system is designed to identify the faces of users who have been registered in the database and unlock the door automatically if the user's face is verified. The test results show that the system is able to detect and recognize faces with an accuracy level of 100% with facial samples of 5 different people. However, there are challenges in facial recognition in low-light environments and certain facial positions, which affect the accuracy of the system.
