PEMBERDAYAAN KOMUNITAS BERBASIS KEARIFAN LOKAL (LOCAL WISDOM) DALAM PERAWATAN LANSIA: LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

The significant increase in the elderly population in Indonesia demands a care model that focuses not only on medical aspects but also integrates with the local socio-cultural context. A community empowerment approach based on local wisdom and social capital is believed to offer a holistic, relevant, and sustainable solution to improving the quality of life for the elderly. This literature review aims to synthesize models, methods, and results from empirical studies on the implementation of local wisdom in community-based elderly care and welfare programs. This method uses a systematic review design or literature review of research articles published between 2019 and 2025 from journal articles retrieved online from the Google Scholar database and the Garuda Portal by analyzing 8 articles that focus on social assistance and empowerment of the elderly in various regions of Indonesia. Data from these articles were extracted to identify the forms of local wisdom used, implementation methods, and the resulting impact on the elderly and the community. The results of the synthesis of findings indicate that community empowerment is successfully realized through two main assets based on local wisdom: Sociocultural Values ​​and Productive/Health Assets.
