UPAYA MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN AL-QUR'AN DAN HADITS MATERI MAKNA DAN DALIL LARANGAN GAYA HIDUP MATERIALISTIK, HEDONIS DAN KONSUMTIF DI KELAS VIII SMPIT AT-TAUBAH KARAWANG

This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes in the subject of the Qur'an and Hadith with a focus on the material of the meaning and argument of the prohibition of a materialistic, hedonistic, and consumptive lifestyle. The study was conducted in class VIII of SMPIT At-Taubah Karawang using a descriptive qualitative approach and comparative analysis method. Data sources were obtained from classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and the results of pre-tests and post-tests of students in the control and experimental classes. The results showed that the contextual learning approach used in the experimental class was able to significantly improve students' understanding and grades compared to the control class using conventional methods. The post-test scores of students in the experimental class experienced a higher average increase than the control class. In addition, contextual learning has been proven to be able to instill awareness of Islamic values and shape students' character in avoiding a consumptive and excessive lifestyle. This study recommends that teachers apply a meaningful, applicable, and relevant learning approach to the reality of students' lives to improve the quality of learning the Qur'an and Hadith holistically.
