ANALISIS KESULITAN MAHASISWA DALAM MENYUSUN KARYA TULIS ILMIAH

Abstract

Writing a scientific paper is one of the essential skills students must possess to support their academic activities in higher education. However, during the writing process, students still face various obstacles that can hinder the completion of their scientific papers. This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by students in writing scientific papers and the factors influencing them. This study uses a literature review method (library research) by collecting and examining various relevant written sources, such as journal articles, books, and previous studies. The obtained data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach to describe the problems faced by students. The results of the study indicate that students' difficulties include determining research topics and titles, writing background statements, formulating problem statements, searching for relevant references, understanding theories, selecting research methods, analyzing data, and using academic language in accordance with writing conventions. These difficulties are also associated with low motivation, lack of self-confidence, procrastination, and low reading interest. Therefore, students need to improve their habits of reading scientific sources, practice writing regularly, manage their time effectively, and actively consult with their academic advisors. These efforts are expected to help students write scientific papers in a systematic, clear, and accountable manner
