Upaya Perlindungan Hukum Konsumen Dari Iklan Obat dan Makanan Melalui Siaran Televisi dan Radio

Legal protection efforts against misleading drug and food advertising on television and radio are very important to safeguard public health and consumer rights. In Indonesia, this regulation is regulated through the Regulation on Supervision and Enforcement of Sanctions for Food and Drug Advertisements (P3SPS), and the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). This collaboration aims to ensure that all advertisements displayed comply with applicable legal provisions, and do not hide or mislead information that could harm consumers. Violations of these regulations may result in legal sanctions, such as fines, revocation of broadcast permits, or a ban on broadcasting certain advertisements. In addition, Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (UUPK) provides a legal framework to protect consumer rights and prevent unethical business practices. Although there are challenges in implementing this regulation, collaboration between regulatory agencies and increasing public awareness is expected to create a safer and fairer advertising environment. More intensive education and outreach is needed to increase understanding of business actors and consumers regarding applicable regulations.
